Deputy Chief Minister Francis D'Souza said planning of Mapusa town and the Bodgeshwar Plaza would be his priority for the next five years.
Speaking to reporters after filing his nomination papers on Monday, D'Souza said Mapusa town planning and Bodgeshwar Plaza would be his priority for the next five years. “The Congress Party does not have strength to defeat BJP and the MGP-GSM-Shiv Sena alliance will not affect the BJP at all,” he said.
“AAP just came to Goa to sell dreams. Goa wants a stable government and only BJP can give stable government to Goa,” he added.
Congress Tivim candidate Harlankar said Tivim people want to be free from the clutches of unemployment and addiction from alcohol and drugs. “The present MLA has not undertaken any development in the constituency and it's my duty to give the constituency what it deserves,” he added.
Fourteen candidates from Mapusa, Tivim, Saligao, Aldona, Calangute and Siolim constituencies filed their nomination papers on Monday. Three candidates have filed two sets of nominations and one independent candidate has also filed his nomination. In all, 19 nominations were filed by 14 candidates in Bardez.
Deputy Chief Minister Francis D'Souza, Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, Aldona MLA Glenn Ticlo and Tivim MLA Kiran Kandolkar filed their nomination papers. Ticlo and Kandolkar filed two sets of nominations. MLA Michael Lobo's wife Delilah has also filed a dummy nomination.
Other candidates, Dattatray alias Pradeep Padgaonkar (Saligao AAP candidate), Gajanan Rama Naik (Communist Party - Saligao), Jayesh Salgaonkar (Goa Forward - Saligao), Vinod Palyekar (Goa Forward - Siolim), Patrick Almeida (Independent - Siolim), Vishnu Naik (AAP - Siolim), Ursula D'Souza (AAP - Aldona), Nilkanth Harlankar (Congress “ Tivim) and Pradeep Ghadi Amonkar (AAP - Tivim) filed their nominations before the election officers Chandrakant Shetkar, Sheru Shirodkar, Rohan Kaskar, Gurudas Dessai and Akshay Potekar.
