PANAJI: GPCC president, Girish Chodankar, on Monday scoffed at CM Manohar Parrikar’s decision to drop two ministers - Francis D’Souza and Pandurang Madkaikar - from his cabinet on ‘health grounds’ terming it “laughable” when the CM himself is confined to a hospital bed with a serious ailment.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Chodankar said it was laughable that Parrikar, who himself has been ailing for seven months seriously affecting the administration, had replaced D’Souza and Madkaikar for the express reason that they are facing serious health issues and are absent from office.
Parrikar who is battling
a serious pancreatic ailment first diagnosed in February has been in and out of
hospitals in Goa, Mumbai and New York. Since September 15, he has been admitted into AIIMS, Delhi.
D’Souza, meanwhile, is undergoing treatment at MSK Cancer Centre in New York, where Parrikar was also treated for over three months between March and June. Madkaikar is recuperating in a Mumbai hospital since June after he suffered a brain stroke.
