Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Saturday evening said there is no scope for  doubt over the stability of the present government, adding that the cabinet had extremely capable legislators who were united to take up developments for Goa.

Showering lavish praises on the Goa Forward Party, Mauvin also said the regional party led by Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vijai Sardessai had played a major role in the government’s formation and its stability.

Godinho was talking to reporters along the sidelines of a sarvajanik Ganesh function organised by Shree Ganesh Sakhalyo Saunsthan (SGSS) at Thana in Cortalim.

The function was attended by TCP Minister Vijai Sardessai, Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, SGSS President Anil Putu Naik, SGSS General Secretary Devendra Kerkar and others.

“People should not fall prey to rumours being spread over the stability of the government. Though no one had got a clear majority, like-minded people came together and formed the present government and moved forward to do something good for Goa,” said Mauvin, adding “Vijai Sardessai was the person who played a major role in this coalition.”

Admitting that they have been facing difficulties because our Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is ailing, Mauvin added, “In this situation, I feel it’s a big responsibility on us, elected leaders, on how we can move forward despite such difficulties.”

“All leaders are capable and this new regional party Goa Forward led by Sardessai plays a vital role at this juncture so that we are united to do something good for Goa,” said Godinho.

“It is not by design, but by default that we have got a very good cabinet and all are capable leaders. There is no scope for doubt and the government is very stable,” he added.
