MAPUSA
The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has announced a series of organisational appointments in North Goa as part of its efforts to strengthen the party structure and enhance grassroots outreach ahead of future political challenges.
According to a statement issued by the party, GPCC Working President and MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira has approved the appointment of Anil Pednekar as the new President of the Porvorim Block Congress Committee.
The party has simultaneously elevated the outgoing Porvorim Block Congress President, Mario Ataide, to the post of Vice President of the North Goa District Congress Committee with immediate effect. The promotion, the Congress said, recognises Ataide's contribution and dedicated service to the organisation during his tenure at the block level.
In another key appointment, Sagar Salgaonkar has been named Working President of the Aldona Block Congress Committee.
The appointments form part of the party's ongoing organisational restructuring aimed at strengthening its presence at the grassroots and improving engagement with the public across North Goa.
The GPCC leadership expressed confidence that the newly appointed office-bearers would work towards expanding the party's organisational base, increasing public outreach and effectively carrying forward the Congress party's agenda of serving the people of Goa.
Party leaders said the appointments are expected to provide fresh momentum to Congress activities in North Goa and help reinforce the organisation at the block and district levels as it seeks to expand its support base across the State.
