As part of its parliament clean and green campaign and the campaign in support of its North Goa candidate Girish Chodankar, the Congress party staged a cycle rally at Bicholim.

Those taking party in the rally included Chodankar, Bicholim Block President Meghshyam Raut, Youth Congress President Varad Mardolkar, Shrirang Parab, Prashant Chanekar, Khemlo Sawant, rally chief Anant Pissurlekar and others.

The rally culminated near the main road outside the Bicholim police station.

Addressing the gathering, Chodankar said the Congress cycle rally had so far covered about 230 kms across 19 constituencies in Goa in the

last six days.

“We have received tremendous response from people in areas like Sakhali, Karapur, Mayem, Bicholim and other areas. This makes it clear that the people in Goa are fed up with BJP due to its false promises on different counts and will support the Congress party,” said Chodankar.

He said the cycle rally was organised by Congress party to pass on the message of clean and green campaign to Goans as part of its

first-of-a-kind initiative.

He added that Congress party would try to reach out to poor people by addressing their basic needs.

Accusing the BJP of playing dirty politics of break and rule, Chodankar said the Congress party is confident of winning both parliament seats and all by-polls in the State. Raut, Mardolkar and Pissurlekar also spoke

at the event.
