Addressing a joint meeting of GPCC and Congress Legislative Party at Congress House on Saturday, outgoing GPCC president Shantaram Naik said that BJP leaders are plotting to divide the country along communal lines and that BJP’s central ministers have been playing an active role in the strategy.
Naik recalled the statements of BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj who recently said that Hindu women should produce at least four children each, in orders to increase the Hindu population in the country.
“A BJP Minister Niranjan Jyoti appealed to the people to choose between ‘Ramzade’ (Rama’s children) and ‘haramzade’ (illegitimate children). Yet another BJP minister said that those who oppose Narendra Modi should go to Pakistan. BJP leaders have stated that those who eat beef in Goa should be flogged publicly. These are divisive tendencies,” Naik
stated.
CLP leader Chandrakant “Babu” Kavlekar said that BJP is a destructive force and that the party finds satisfaction only in creating turmoil in the society.
Kavlekar said that people in the country are frustrated and that if elections were held at this juncture, Congress would return to power with a thumping majority.
