Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar said Congress is committed to save Goa from the marauding BJP and protect the interest of the people.
“Petrol is the best example to prove that BJP doesn’t keep its word. It has hidden agendas in every area. Now, people need to be vigilant of their political tricks. We stand with the people of Goa and also with our farmers,” Chodankar said.
The GPCC chief was addressing the people in Aldona while participating in a digital membership programme.
Former MLA and GPCC Vice President Dharma Chodankar, General Secretary Amarnath Panjikar, Aldona Congress Block President Ashwin De Souza, former ZP Gokuldas Halarnkar and others were present on the occasion.
Chodankar said BJP was resorting to dadagiri to suppress the voice of the people and further said that Rahul Gandhi was the only leader fighting fearlessly against the Modi government and exposing their wrong deeds.
“When people complained about inflation and rising prices of fuel, BJP used the people of Goa to gain votes by promising petrol at Rs 60, but are now looting the common man,” he said.
He said digital membership has taken pace after fixing the initial snag.
“We are receiving an overwhelming response and people are complaining about the situation created by the present BJP government,” Chodankar said.
He explained to people why they should join Congress and the need to fight against the ‘power’ trying to suppress everyone.
Congress General Secretary, Amarnath Panjikar also condemned the functioning of BJP.
Other senior Congress leaders Dharma Chodankar, Vishwas Nagvekar and others also spoke at the meeting.
