With an aim to further strengthen its organisational presence in the politically significant and influential Sattari region, the Congress party held a Workers’ Convention of the Valpoi and Poriem Blocks.
Organised under the leadership of Mhadei District Congress President Mangaldas Naik, the gathering witnessed the participation of a large number of party workers, office-bearers, and senior leaders.
The convention focused on strengthening the party structure at the grassroots level, energising party workers, and preparing the organisation for future political challenges, as part of renewed efforts to rebuild and expand its organisational network in Sattari.
Addressing the gathering, AICC Goa In-charge Manikrao Thakare stated that the party’s grassroots organisation remains the true strength of the Congress.
He urged workers to remain connected with concerns, aspirations, and issues faced by people and to actively champion their causes. He emphasised that party workers must take responsibility for reaching every section of society and standing up for public welfare.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar called upon party workers to work collectively towards strengthening the Congress organisation across the state.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of the people and ensuring that their concerns receive due attention and justice.
The convention was also addressed by Goa Congress Working President and Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira, Goa Mahila Congress President Pratiksha Khalap, GPCC General Secretary Pradeep Naik, and North Goa District Congress President Shashank Narvekar.
The leaders stressed the need to effectively communicate the party’s ideology to the people, strengthen organisational networks in villages, bring new members into the party fold, and maintain continuous engagement with citizens.
Speakers highlighted the importance of unity, organisational discipline, and the vital role of party workers in building a strong political movement. They expressed confidence that a committed and organised cadre base would help the party emerge as a credible and effective alternative for the people of Goa.
Criticising the government for allegedly neglecting several public issues, Congress leaders stated that the party would take a more proactive stand on matters such as unemployment, rising prices, shortcomings in infrastructure, and the concerns of farmers and ordinary citizens.
They also announced plans to intensify village-level meetings, public outreach campaigns, and organisational programmes to expand the party’s support base.
At the conclusion of the convention, party workers and office-bearers pledged to further strengthen the Congress organisation in Valpoi, Poriem, and across Sattari. They resolved to take the party’s ideology to every household and build a robust organisational framework in preparation for future elections.
