Coming down heavily on the BJP government for trying to usurp the fertile land of the farmers, Congress has demanded that the government should instead use acquired land in its possession for the IIT project.
Speaking to reporters in Panaji on Thursday, GPCC President Amit Patkar informed that the party welcomes any move which will turn Goa into an education hub.
“But it cannot be done at the cost of cultivable land of the farmers. We had opposed the IIT project at Shel-Melauli and we will continue to oppose the same at Sanguem if the government tries to forcefully go ahead with it,” Patkar said.
