In an apparent bid to break the suspense over the selection of candidate for the South Goa Lok Sabha seat, the Congress High Command on Sunday has put to use its Shakti App to obtain feedback on the candidature of the two front runners -- Francisco Sardinha and Pratima Coutinho.
It’s now three days since three-time former MP Francisco Sardinha and Mahila Congress Chief Pratima Coutinho had emerged as front runners for the South Goa Lok Sabha seat after the party high command almost cleared the candidature of GPCC Chief Girish Chodankar for the North Goa seat.
With no unanimity in sight amongst the members of the Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) over the party’s candidate for the South Goa seat, the Congress High Command has resorted to the Shakti App through its data and research team to seek inputs from the party workers as well as voters on the general acceptability of the individual candidate. Sources said the data generated by the Shakti App is being directly monitored by Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who heads the party Central Election Committee.
