PANAJI
Panaji Traffic Cell constable Yuvraj Gawas has been suspended from duty for assaulting a home guard, Sagar Mahale, in the Panaji Police barracks on April 8. The video had gone viral. Traffic PI took cognizance of it and submitted a report before Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Aravind Gawas.

A video of the Traffic constable’s aggressive behaviour towards the IRB guards went viral on Thursday showing the erring constable verbally abusing and then hitting Mahale, who is carrying his fractured arm in a cast, with footwear.

Constable Yuvraj, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, questioned the three home guards over their presence in the police barracks. One of the home guards is heard explaining to him that they had been allowed by the police inspector on the directions of the Director General of Police to rest in the barracks.
