For the third consecutive day, Goa experienced a chilly start to its morning with temperatures dipping to 18.6°C early Tuesday morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a continuation of the pleasant winter spell with Christmas to be marked by cool weather.
“Chilled and pleasant winter conditions have set in, and Christmas is expected to be no different,” IMD Goa official Nahush Kulkarni, said speaking to The Goan.
On Tuesday, while daytime temperatures settled at 29°C and humidity hovered around 45 percent, a cool and refreshing breeze provided much-needed relief from the hot and humid weather.
Earlier this month, Goa’s weather took an unexpected turn as the usual pleasant conditions gave way to heat and humidity due to the dominance of easterly winds, replacing the cooler northerly winds. Kulkarni explained that the earlier weather systems, preventing the winter chill, have now eased, paving the way for favourable conditions in Goa.
