PSI Shirishkumar Naik attached to Indian Reserve Batallion at Sanguem claimed the jackpot by winning the first prize at the donation coupons released by Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal Sanguem.

The winning donations coupons were declared by the Mandal on Monday evening in the presence of Social Welfare Minister and Sanguem MLA Subhash Phal Dessai and Attorney General Devidas Pangam.

After the overnight surprise as to who had been the lucky winner of the 2BHK flat located in the heart of Margao city and a cash prize of Rs 27 lakh, news slowly started trickling in at around noon when Naik was declared to be the holder of the lucky coupon bearing number 48892.

In the early morning hours, there were however rumours in the town that a local omelette vendor had won the prized 2BHK flat. The rumours soon turned out to be fake when the actual prize owner made the declaration of having won the first prize.

While it was not known as to who has won the other mega prizes, a source involved with the Donation Coupons at Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, Sanguem, informed that the third prize comprising a JCB machine was reportedly won by a local from Canacona.

Meanwhile at the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal in Quepem, the first prize comprising a Toyota Fortuner and a cash prize of Rs 19 lakh is reportedly won by a resident from Khadpabandh-Ponda.
