Cansaulim Sarpanch Jose Maria Furtado on Sunday said that after a record-breaking victory in the ZP elections, it has been proved that Anton Vas has huge support from the people and that he has the potential and calibre of an MLA.
Furtado was speaking to reporters after a function held to felicitate the newly elected Cortalim ZP Anton Vas in the presence of a large number of villagers and panch members of Velsao Panchayat at Velsao.
Vas also met people who wanted to wish him on his victory and he was also felicitated by a senior resident of the area with flowers and shawl for his win at the recent ZP polls.
"Vas has taken a 45-year-old pending road work which is partly under the Cansaulim Panchayat jurisdiction and his honesty has always done the talking for him and his record margin victory across Goa is proof enough of his support and potential to be an MLA. We will stand with Vas and support him and will make him the MLA of Cortalim in 2022 and give him a chance to carry out more development in Cortalim," said Furtado.
