SALIGAO: The Surya Foundation at Porvorim has tied up with Shree Samarth Sharda Sugam Sangeet Sanstha of Mumbai to offer certificate courses in light classical music.

Founder member of Surya Foundation Prof Mahesh Nagvekar said the foundation will provide training to students of various age groups in light classical music, both vocal and instrumental. Exams will be conducted by Shree Samarth Sharda Sugam Sangeet Sanstha of Mumbai, which is a government-recognized institution.

Founder of Shree Samarth Sharda Sugam Sangeet Sanstha, Mumbai, Srikantji Ranade also spoke on the occasion. He said, “There are 40 approved examiners on the roll of the institution and the institution will not only conduct exams, but also organise camps in Goa for the benefit of music lovers.”

Surya Foundation secretary Sandeep Borkar and treasurer Ashok Kumar Shetty were also present.
