The District and Additional Sessions Court-II, Mapusa, cancelled bail granted to alleged drug accused Afnan Ghori after a challenge by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC). The court found his claim that family members were uninformed about his arrest unsustainable and noted substantial compliance with constitutional safeguards under Articles 21 and 22.

Considering the seriousness of the allegations and Ghori’s alleged possession of a commercial quantity of narcotics, he was deemed ineligible for bail. ANC had initially seized ecstasy on him and later recovered ecstasy, ganja, and 127 gms of cocaine from his residence, with total contraband worth around Rs 65 lakh. Ghori was directed to surrender.
