The Children’s Court has postponed the order on a plea seeking a re-examination of Suchana Seth’s mental health by the Mental Health Authority to March 4. Seth, accused of killing her four-year-old son during their vacation in Goa in January, is currently in judicial custody.
The accused’s father filed an application this month, challenging the report from the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour (IPHB) in Bambolim that confirmed she is mentally fit/stable.
Her lawyer had cited that the Authority, headed by a retired judge besides mental health professionals, psychologists, social workers, etc., as its members, should carry out her reassessment, as the IPHB failed to consider her history. The Court had reserved the verdict for February 26, which was subsequently adjourned to February 28.
