Covid-19 cases on decline in Salcete

The Covid situation showed signs of further improvement with the number of active cases at the Margao Urban Health Centre area coming down to the 500-mark on Tuesday.

The situation at the primary health centres across Salcete further improved, with Covid cases at the Chinchinim primary health centre coming down to the double digit future, around 92 cases to be precise.

Active Covid cases at the Margao UHC further dipped to 504 on Tuesday, with the cases hovering around the 500-figure market for the second consecutive day. The number of active Covid cases at the Margao UHC on Monday was put at 506.

A glance at the health bulletin reveals that the situation has improved further in Salcete as evident by the further decline in the number of active cases. If the number of cases in the Chinchinim Primary Health Centre area has come down to 92, the situation has been found encouraging in the remaining health centre areas as well.

In fact, cases in the remaining PHCs have further improved with PHCs such as Balli, Navelim, Curtorim and Loutolim recording cases less than 200.

The bulletin showed the number of cases at the Balli Primary Health Centre area, which has its jurisdiction over Cuncolim Municipal area, to 138.

The cases have come down further in the Navelim PHC, with cases dropping to 121 on Tuesday.

At Loutolim and Curtorim, which at one time recorded 500-odd cases, the number of cases have come down to 188 and 156 respectively, indicating improvement in the situation.

Margao urban health officials informed that the number of persons visiting the health centre for the home isolation kits has come down drastically over the last seven days.
