Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao on Wednesday launched the beautification project from Uskineband to Balli, facilitating a promenade, toilet block, and other facilities.

The Leader of Opposition, Yuri Alemao, said that it was a long-pending demand, which is now becoming a reality.

“This promenade will feature a walking track and benches, providing a perfect spot for evening strolls and relaxation. I am thrilled to see this initiative take shape, enhancing the quality of life for local residents,” Alemao said.

He said that along with this work, the accident-prone zones will also be eliminated. “Accidents are taking place across the state for various reasons. Here also, there are some black spots and bad road engineering. These issues will be addressed while carrying out this developmental work,” Alemao said.

Alemao emphasised the need for the government to tackle road accidents, which claim many young lives. “I have taken this issue seriously and have raised my voice in Assembly sessions and also on other platforms. People are dying like insects on roads. This should stop,” he said.

Elaborating on the promenade in the new project, he said that people can use this for health benefits. “This promenade will be helpful for walking and maintaining our health. My office is following up on these works and I am confident that it will be completed within the stipulated time,” Alemao said.
