The North and South Goa Collectorates have issued orders placing restrictions on civilian activities within a 50-metre radius of defence areas and important infrastructure in their respective regions.

The orders, issued late on Friday evening, ban unauthorised parking of private or commercial vehicles, trespassing, or movement of people or goods without permission.

They also prohibit any temporary or permanent structures like stalls, shops, or other commercial or informal setups, as well as the storage of materials or placing of barriers that could affect security or emergency services. The restrictions will remain in place for 60 days. The Collectorates said the move is meant to protect national security and public safety.
