NRI Affairs Commissioner Narendra Sawaikar on Friday said the BJP is not lagging behind in serving the people in Curtorim constituency.
He said the BJP's Curtorim wing, especially its ST morcha is doing recommendable job in bringing people of all strata together, especially the dominant ST constituents are given a voice of their own in the form of Anthony Barbosa, the vice president of ST Morcha of South Goa.
Sawaikar was addressing a gathering at the free medical camp organised by BJP Curtorim ST Morcha in collaboration with Oorja Research and Training Academy and Raia Village panchayat at the village panchayat hall.
Urfan Mulla, BJP spokesperson and Basilio Fernandes, Sarpanch of Camorlim village panchayat were invited as special invitees. Fr Cristo of Our Lady of Monserrate Chapel, Manora-Raia blessed the opening of the health camp.
Seated on the dais were Anthony Barbosa, vice president of ST Morcha South Goa, Manuel Barbosa, President of BJP ST Morcha Curtorim, BJP spokesperson Samrat Raiturkar, BJP state Mahila secretary Dr Sneha Bhagwat, Curtorim BJP block president Mayur Kudchadkar, MMC Councillor Sunita Paradkar, State BJP Executive member Yogesh Khandeparker, Curtorim BJP Mahila president Babita Borkar, Sarpanch of Raia Minguelina D'souza, Dy Sarpanch Mario D'souza, former Sarpanch and Panch Esmeralda Gomes, all panch members and others.
Sawaikar congratulated BJP Curtorim ST Morcha for holding the second health camp in Curtorim within a span of a week.
In his speech, BJP spokesperson Urfan Mulla lamented that the legislative members who have been representing Curtorim constituency have not taken up any remarkable development work in the constituency. “Although the constituency has remained loyal to Congress party, their leaders are not careful enough to understand the sentiments of its constituents. Curtorkars have been used as vote banks”, he said as he showered praises on Anthony Barbosa and his team.
