BELAGAVI
Goa-based regional airline Fly91 has shown interest in launching daily flights on the Belagavi-Goa route, with possible additional connections to Hubballi and Hyderabad.
While the airline recently received winter schedule slot approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), there is no confirmation on when or if the services will begin.
Belagavi Airport Director S Thyagarajan and other officials noted that although Fly91 has secured the necessary slots, the airline has yet to reach out to finalize plans with the Airport Authority.
The news has stirred optimism among Belagavi’s business community, given the strong demand for regular travel to Goa.
There also remains a longstanding call for expansion of cargo services to support the export of local vegetables and dairy products between Belagavi and Goa.
