MARGAO
The Mathagramastha Hindu Sabha running the Damodar educational institution on Monday realized the dream of former Minister late Babu Naik on his 98th birth anniversary to hold classes of all three sections, primary, secondary and higher secondary schools in the morning section.
In fact, the new building which will hold classes for the Kindergarten and Primary school was inaugurated at the hands of former Minister, Manohar Ajgaonkar, former Margao Civic Chief Ajit Hegde and other citizens in the presence of Mathagramastha Hindu Sabha president Bhai Naik.
In his address, Ajgaonkar said that late Babu Naik was instrumental in providing education to the poor and downtrodden section of society over the years. “By studying in the Damodar school, people from the lower strata of society became professionals including lawyers and doctors. All this credit goes to late Babu Naik and his family, including children”, he added.
Bhai later told the media that his father Babu Naik had a dream that all the three divisions, primary, secondary and higher secondary schools should take place in the morning session for the benefit of the parents. “We have fulfilled Babu’s dream which will mitigate the hardships faced by the parents”, he said.
