MARGAO
Two-time former BJP MLA Damu Naik was in action on Sunday, descending on the Multipurpose grounds, Borda to inaugurate a football tournament and to caution the youth not to fall prey to lies and false promises.
He later had an interaction with artists and artisans at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao wherein he repeated that the people should be wary of politicians out to deceive with tall promises.
The former BJP MLA, who has firmly set his eyes on Fatorda in the coming election, took the platform of football to remind the people though Covid had brought life to a standstill over the last one year and half, he and his workers were on the field, trying to reach out the people in distress. “We made every attempt to reach out to the people, with food grains and vegetables, medicines, masks and sanitizers at the doorsteps of the people of Fatorda”, he said.
He added: “We had done our bit to help the people tide over the situation arising of the Covid pandemic”.
Saying that everything is now slowly opening with the Covid cases on the decline, Damu said the football tournament will help the youth to showcase their soccer talents.
