Davorlim villagers reject proposal to convert lake

This is the second time the gram sabha has adopted a resolution opposing the proposed conversion of the lake. Members suggested that the panchayat approach the concerned departments, including the Water Resources Department, to take up beautification and improvement of the 

water body.

Members also raised concerns over the government’s NDZ proposal, fearing that it could displace dozens of families who have lived in the area for decades.

They demanded that the NDZ proposal be scrapped to protect the homes of these families.
