PANAJI: The Center for Research and Excellence between Society and Technology (CREST) of Fr Agnel College, Pilar, is organizing a one-day event, ‘Ground Zero’ on the Wednesday in the college premises as a platform for debates and discussions between aspiring candidates of the 14th St AndrÃ© constituency and the people.

The session will also include a research paper on the topic 'Impact of Academia on Grass root level and State level politics.' Among those expected to take part in the debate include Francisco Silveira, Dhaku Madkaikar, Simon Caiado and several other aspirants.

PANAJI Around 200 local contractors joined hands on Tuesday to hit out at government departments "for holding back their payments of around Rs 400 crore for over a year". Coming together under the banner 'Goa Government Contractors Forum', they demanded payment of their outstanding dues with Public Works Department and the Goa State Industrial Development Corporation.
