Decline in Goa Covid deaths; toll now 557

The number of Covid-related deaths recorded in Goa fell to two. Both the deaths were recorded at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim. With this, the total number of Covid-related deaths in Goa has risen to 557. An 87 year old man from Pomburpa who was suffering from atrial fibrillation and a 59 year-old man from Ambelim who was suffering from diabetes.  Total cases have now touched 41,339 of which 3,099 are active cases while 37,683 have recovered.

Pending DSSY aid released

PANAJI The state government on Wednesday released Rs 45.29 crore as one month’s pending assistance to the beneficiaries of Griha Aadhaar and Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSY) schemes. A press release issued by the Chief Minister’s office stated, “The beneficiaries of DSSY will receive their benefits for the month of June, while those of Griha Adhar will receive the benefits for the month of April.”
