The Citizens Services Centre set up on the ground floor of the Matanhy Saldanha Administrative complex in the South district Collectorate is back again in the news, this time over the delay in the issuance of land records.

A delegation of Niz Goemkar Fauz on Wednesday called on the Superintendent, Land & survey Records, department, Margao to complain that applicants are made to wait for 10 days to receive their land records.

“Our Prime Minister's vision is to take India onto the digital platform. But, people suffer at the hands of the Citizen Service Centre as their property work gets delayed due to the server being down most of the time at the citizen service centre”, the delegation led by general secretary Pascoal Costa stated.

“Token numbers are called out as per the wish of the citizen service centre's staff. Nobody is there to monitor them. Few counters are seen closed. The same center staff is seen engaged on their mobile phones.  When one goes to apply for survey plan, the citizen service centre staff tells you to visit again once the applicant receives message after ten days saying the survey plan is ready for collection. There is no time limit”.

He added: “Once I asked the staff as to why I have to visit again to which the centre employee told me that the survey plan is not uploaded in the system by the land survey department. Why one has to wait for 10 days to get the survey plan?

The delegation also raised the issue of regarding 1&IV form & survey plan of the same property and survey number, pointing out that the staff at the CSC is blaming the land survey department that the staff is not uploading the documents on time.

When the media asked the Superintendent for her comments, she firmly stated that her department has nothing to do with the Citizens Services Centre set up at the South Goa district Collectorate.
