Junior Chamber International (JCI) delegates from 120 countries will participate in the World JCI Congress in the State in 2018.
This was stated by JCI Zone President Zone XI JC Poonam Sirsat while briefing the media in a city hotel at Vasco.
Providing details on the World JCI Congress to be held in Goa, Sirsat stated that the JC’s in Goa are tying up with the tourism department to organise the event.
“We are expecting a large number of foreign delegates to participate in the event as it marks 101th anniversary of JCI,” said Sirsat.
“Besides giving a boost to the economy and tourism industry, the event will also help the Junior Chamber members in Goa to attend the event and showcase their talent,” added Sirsat.
“JCI is a youth organization involved in creating leaders through different programmes. Besides conducting leadership programmes for the youth, we also carry out community development programs, carry out business related programs and other training programmes.”
“There is scarcity of good leaders and JCI provides the platform for the youth to become better leaders and citizens,” said Sirsat.
National Executive Vice President R S Prabhu said JCI is involved in constructing toilets to the less privileged sections of society.
“We are also planning to distribute around 2,000 RO water purifiers across the country to the needy schools, so that children can avail of good quality drinking water,” said Prabhu.
