MARGAO
Madganvcho Awaaz and youth leader Prabhav Naik has welcomed the Centre’s approval of the proposed 50-seat medical college, urging the State government to establish it at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, by upgrading the facility into a tertiary healthcare institution.
Reacting to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s announcement, Naik said the project would strengthen healthcare services and medical education in South Goa. He suggested utilising the hospital’s vacant floors for academic facilities, laboratories and lecture halls. He said the project should include modern diagnostic facilities, specialised departments, adequate beds, round-the-clock emergency services, ambulances and qualified medical personnel.
He urged the government to prepare a time-bound plan to upgrade the hospital, maximise existing infrastructure and provide quality medical education and advanced treatment to people in South Goa.
