“Many Goans who registered their births in Central Registry at Lisbon did so innocently. They are citizens of Portugal as per Portuguese law. Hence, they shouldn’t be penalized by taking away their right to vote. What we need is a central legislation allowing dual citizenship for such persons,” he said while speaking against the curtailment of voting rights of these persons.
