OLD GOA
A major portion of the old GMC wall was demolished on Monday, giving more hope to the displaced kiosk owners and fruits/vegetables vendors that their rehabilitation is getting closer to becoming a reality.
The portion of the wall was demolished as the new compound wall has reached its maximum height.
However, the kiosk owners and vendors have decided to continue with their protest which completed 22 days, till their rehabilitation becomes a reality.
It may be recalled that the kiosk owners and vendors, who had gone on a chain hunger strike, had suspended the same on November 27 after assurances by both St Cruz MLA Tony Fernandes and St Andre MLA Francisco Silveira that their rehabilitation will become a reality in a month’s time.
