Depts to clear most pending cases in Mormugao within 2 months: CM

VASCOAssuring that many development projects in Mormugao would go ahead, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said departments have been set a target to clear most pending cases in Mormugao taluka within two months. He added there would be a review meeting in three months to check the status of these works.Speaking to reporters after a joint review meeting with various departments at Ravindra Bhavan in Baina, Sawant said he had reviewed the Covid management and overall development of Mormugao taluka. "There may be pending cases regarding regularisation, partition, conversion or Sanad in the DeputyCollector or Mamlatdar's offices and we have taken a review of such cases.”“We have also given instructions to all departments to stress on generating maximum revenue while taking care of the Covid management. The departments have been set a target to clear most pending cases in the next two months and this will help us fast track the administration," said Sawant."Many issues pertaining to a municipality like regularisation of structures have also been reviewed and we have decided to coordinate with DMA and get the regularisation done so that it generates maximumrevenue for the government. Pending works will also be taken up at full pace," said Sawant. "Some issues on development works like the Vasco bus stand were taken up by MLA Carlos Almeida at the review meeting. It has been decided that works will be carried forward soon and we will have another review meeting in the next three months to check the status of these development works," saidSawant."We have also given a target to the Mamlatdar to make a survey report on encroachments and submit itto the government within a month, after which the government will decide on the future course ofaction," said Sawant.While extending his Ganesh Chaturthi wishes to people of Mormugao taluka, the chief ministerappealed to them to take utmost care and follow safety precautions against Covid while celebrating thefestival.
