Speaking to The Goan, AAP’s Valmiki Naik said that the party will go about its work unfazed while others go to various lengths to discredit the party.
“We know, we have to expect some accusations which crop up before elections. They (opponents) have to dig really deep to attack us because they can really find nothing against us,” Naik told the Goan.
Accusations in Delhi and Punjab have reverberated in Goa with the opposition parties and sections of the media throwing questioning glances at the party for the alleged misconduct of the MLAs in Delhi as well as the alleged infighting in Punjab ahead of the elections.
“I think that it is a very good thing that we are taking action against errant MLAs. In the most recent case, we sacked the minister within half-an-hour of it being made known,” Naik said.
Alleging that the coverage of sections of the press was also ‘biased’, Naik said they would continue with their work of visiting people door-to-door telling them of the kind of governance in Delhi.
“We are going to continue visiting the people door-to-door telling them of the kind of government in Delhi with focus on health and education and the fact that both the BJP was voted to power because the Congress was bad and now the Congress hasn’t done anything worthy to come back to power,” Naik said adding that the AAP was the only real option with the people.
To the allegation that the party was increasingly becoming a cult of Arvind Kejriwal rather than a people’s party, Naik said that AAP was the only party in which the volunteers could directly ask questions to Arvind Kejriwal in a common meeting with all the other volunteers and that this has happened in the past during meetings with volunteers in the State.
Parents have
to decide on
MoI: Sisodia
PANAJI: Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Sisodia, who is in the State said that it was the right of the parents to decide the Medium of Instruction of their wards.
Speaking on the sidelines of a private education conference, where he was the chief guest, Sisodia said that parents need to be convinced first.
“Parents should be educated about the advantages and disadvantages of a language and they will then on their own opt for the right medium of instruction for their children,” Sisodia said. Sisodia was in the State for two days and held interactions with various groups of people.
