The Devasthan Committee has submitted a memorandum to the authorities to bar the entry of devotees to Shirgao on May 6, the last day of the Kaulotsav Utsav.

On behalf of the Devasthan Committee, Chairman Dinanath Gaonkar has appealed to all devotees to follow it and cooperate.

"The incident that took place on Saturday morning, in which unfortunately six people lost their lives, is a big shock for us. To pay tribute to the departed souls, we will conclude the festival with simplicity on the last day."

The Devasthan Committee has made a sincere appeal that no devotees should come to the temple in Shirgaon on that day.

An important meeting was held on Sunday evening in the presence of Deputy District Magistrate, Deputy Superintendent of Police and other officials. During this meeting, discussions were held regarding taking appropriate decisions regarding the increasing crowd at the zatra.

Dinanath Gaonkar informed that in the meeting, the temple committee has taken the position that no one should come to the temple on May 6 when the deity is going to the temple, for the safety of all devotees. Therefore, it has  appealed to the devotees to cooperate with the administration and the temple committee and not to come to Shirgao for darshan Tuesday.

"We have taken such a stand only this year and next year all necessary precautions will be taken and necessary errors will be rectified."

Meanwhile, a large crowd of devotees had gathered for the Kaulotsava festival on Sunday. It is expected that a large number of people will arrive on Monday. Devotees have also been appealed to not crowd around and to follow discipline.
