Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, who has come under the radar of political observers over his Delhi visit, lost his cool on Tuesday when questioned over the purpose of his visit to the national capital.
Kamat demanded to know from the media whether he is mandated to dish out information on his personal visits outside the State, pointing out that he is being flooded by the media every time he goes out of station.
“The media should know that I am associated with so many organizations, including sports bodies. And I am required to travel out of the State. That does not mean that every time I go out of Goa that the visit is in connection with politics,” he said.
He questioned: “It’s has been some time now that the media has been repeatedly asking me over my visit to other parts of the country. Am I not entitled to have a personal life? Why are my visits linked to politics? This has been going on for some time now.”
When his attention was drawn to reports on social media that he had headed to the national capital on September 5 before returning home on the same evening, Kamat shot back: “Am I not entitled to travel out of the State?"
