Margao’s famous Dindi festival will be celebrated in the commercial capital on November 3 this year.
For the first time, the festival will be celebrated as a state-level festival with support and assistance from the government.
Hari Mandir Devasthan Samiti President Suhas Kamat told the media that festivities will start near the Hari Mandir from October 30 and culminate in the Dindi festival on November 3.
The main patron of the festival is Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister, while Digambar Kamat is the Organising Committee President. Damodar Naik is the Organising Committee Secretary.
Kamat said various competitions and programmes will be held at the Hari Mandir from October 30.
The main Dindi procession will take place on November 3 from the Hari Mandir, which will then wend its way through the city to Comba, before culminating at the Hari Mandir the next day.
