It may be recalled that Abdul Karim Akhtar (56), who resided near the Sakhali Primary Health Centre (PHC), had died of an illness at a private hospital in Bicholim on February 22. The final rites were performed and the body was buried in the kabrastan at Muzawar Vaddo on February 23. When family members returned to the kabrasthan to perform rituals on Saturday morning, they were in for a rude shock when they found the grave partially dug. Osim Akhtar, son of the deceased, filed a complaint with Bicholim Police.
Bicholim PI Narayan Chimulkar informed that police have been recording the statements of those persons who were related to ritual of final rites.
“We are confident of getting a clue from this investigation which will be helpful to
nab the culprits,” Chimulkar added.
