Disqualification petition against Vishwajit by week-end: Kavlekar
Leader of Opposition Chandrakant ‘Babu’ Kavlekar announced that the Congress State-level party organisation, the All India Congress Committee and the Congress Legislative Party will submit the disqualification petition against Vishwajit Rane, who stepped down as the Valpoi MLA and quit the Congress almost two months ago on March 16.

Rane has since joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and has been sworn-in as health minister.
“The petition was ready since a few days but it was stuck owing to a few reasons. A few changes have been made since Dr Chellakumar took over as the desk in-charge and CLP has cleared the final draft. It will be submitted before the Speaker of the House by this week,” Kavlekar stated.
