Pernem police seized drugs worth over Rs one crore in a major raid at a residence in Keri on Monday, resulting in the arrests of a woman among three.
Acting on a tip-off, the police team led by PI Jivba Dalvi swooped down on the premises at Thorlebad in Keri. 2.29 kgs of cannabis plantation worth Rs 5 lakh, 1.327 kgs of ganja worth Rs. 1.30 lakh and 2.556 kgs of charas worth Rs 1.22 crore were seized in the raid.
An offence under section 20(a)(i), 20(b)(ii)(B), 20(b)(ii)(C) has been registered at Pernem Police station.
The three arrested are: Rama Kerkar (22 yrs), Rashmi Kerkar (44), Shivaji Kerkar (34).
The raiding team consisted of PI Jivba Dalvi, PSI Sanjit Kanolkar, PSI Harish Vaigunkar, PSI Vivek Haldankar, PC Vinod Pednekar, PC Ravi Maloji, PC Anishkumar Poke, PC Yeshodeep Ugevekar, PC Jivan Govekar, PC Mahesh Naik, PC Uday Goasavi, PC Mithil Parab, PC Bhaskar Chari, LPC Smita Gawas, LHG Trupti Satorskar.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SDPO Gajanand Prabhudessai and SP North Utkrisht Prasoon (IPS).
