As many as 24 agreements were signed between entrepreneurs and Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) at the two-day industry conclave in Panaji, which is organised by DRDO in association with Goa State Industries Association (GSIA) and Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce (DITC).
The Life Sciences Cluster of DRDO has innovated a number of food technologies over decades to feed Indian troops, who are stationed in some of the toughest terrains in the world, like Kashmir and North-East.
DRDO has entered into such agreements with entrepreneurs in other states as well.
Dr Mayank Dwivedi, scientist & director, DRDO, said, "Yes, we have signed 24 agreements today. These agreements are for transfer of technology for a range of
products like energy bars, crockery, idli mix, beverages and chips." Earlier in the day, CM, Manohar Parrikar, inaugurated the conclave in the presence of Rajkumar Kamat, president, GSIA.
