Drive against traffic offenders

PANAJI: The Goa Traffic Police cell have announced that they will undertake a drive against traffic offenders beginning April 15.

In a statement to the media, the police have said that they will book traffic offenders concentrating largely on driving without licence, minors driving, driving without helmet, driving under influence of alcohol, using mobile phone while driving.

“This has been done with a view to reduce traffic accidents and to ensure road safety so that accidents are reduced and precious lives are saved. The Traffic police will focus on quality prosecutions. The drive will continue till the end of the month,” the traffic police said in a statement. The police have warned that if minors are found driving, action would be initiated against the registered owners of vehicles.
