CANACONA
According to sources, a HP gas carrying tanker (MH-43-BG-2497) was proceeding from Karwar towards Margao when it fell on its side at Partagal section of NH17 at about 4 pm. The tanker was transporting HG gas from Mangalore to Goa.
Fire services personnel rushed to the spot and immediately moved in to detect any gas leakage, and then later retrieved the trapped unconscious driver, and the cleaner who escaped unhurt.
The trapped person was later identified as the tanker driver, Kauleshwar Yadav. He was rushed to CHC Chaudi, where he was declared dead on arrival. The body was shifted to Hospicio in Margao for postmortem
and preservation.
