In view of 37th National Games to be held in Goa, the State Education Department has rescheduled the Diwali vacation from October 25 to November 18 as against the earlier schedule of November 8 to 26.
As such, the second term, initially scheduled from November 27, will now commence from November 20 and end on April 30, 2024.
The National Games are scheduled to be held in Goa from October 25 to November 9. Diwali will be celebrated across India on November 12.
In a circular issued on Tuesday, the Director Shailesh Zingade has informed about the necessary changes in the academic calendar. He said that the school holidays were re-scheduled to facilitate the students to watch the National Games.
It has also been learnt that the government will be roping in Bal Rath buses to transport volunteers to respective venues of the National Games.
When asked about the first summative or terminal examination, Zingade said that schools were informed in advance to ensure that the examination ends before October 23 and accordingly the schools have made the arrangements.
