The Hyderabad (Telangana) police have tightened their noose around alleged drug dealers from Goa with Curlies shack operator Edwin Nunes and Anjuna local Pritesh Borkar once again landing in their custody. Both the accused were detained under the Preventive Detention Act on Sunday.
“They are facing serious charges of peddling and supplying huge quantities of a cocktail of drugs. They are a threat to society because our investigation has unearthed some serious allegations against them. Youth are falling prey to drugs and it is being trafficked to nooks and corners of the State and country,” an officer, in the know of the development, told The Goan.
While Nunes was detained from Hyderabad where he is complying with his bail conditions on Sunday morning, Borkar was picked up hours later.
The Curlies’ alleged owner was arrested for the offense registered in Hyderabad on November 4 evening, soon after he walked out of the lock-up in Anjuna police station. Borkar, on the other hand, was the first Goan to be arrested in August.
Both are currently on bail for charges in the inter-state drug bust and are complying with court directions including visiting the police station.
