Service to humanity is service to God and one should always abide with this, asserted Governor of Goa PS Sreedharan Pillai on Thursday. He was speaking at a programme held at DILASA Dr Rajanikant SS Usgaonker Palliative Care Centre, Farmagudi Ponda.
Governor appreciated the various initiatives carried out by the IMA (Indian Medical Association) Ponda Charitable Trust for the welfare and betterment of the needy people. He recalled the unprecedented loss of life caused during COVID pandemic and said India could overcome the situation only because of support and help to each other extended by the people including rendering of selfless services with sheer dedication. The humanitarian services by the various social welfare trusts and groups always helped the country to stand tall despite all odds, the Governor added.
DILASA Palliative Care Centre by IMA Ponda Charitable Trust informed the Governor of the various initiatives executed by the DILASA towards helping the needy people and services rendered at the institution.
DILASA Palliative Care Centre received financial assistance from the Governor Pillai for their future endeavours.
MLA Madkai Ramkrishna Dhavlikar lauded the efforts of DILASA centre towards betterment of needy people. He appreciated the Governor for his initiatives towards helping institutes who selflessly work for social service.
Chairman IMA Ponda Charitable Trust Dr Narayan Usgaonker, President IMA Goa Dr Rufino Monteiro, Sarpanch Bandora Rajesh Naik, Addl Collector Prashant Shirodkar, Secretary IMA Ponda Aaron Soares was present on the occasion.
Gautami Hede presented an invocation song and Dr Vallabh Dhaimodkar compered the function.
