In another development, Chief Officer Y B Tawde has so far relieved many of the employees requisitioned for election duty by the district officials upon instructions of the Municipal chairperson.
Since as many as 10 municipal staff and workers have been requisitioned for BLO duties, threatening to cripple civic work for the next one month, the MMC chairperson has pleaded with the district Collector to rope in only
minimum staff for the
electoral duties.
A municipal inspector, besides an employee manning the single window system is amongst the 10 MMC employees requisitioned for duties. Babita has contended that requisitioning the Municipal staff will cripple the Municipal administration. She told the media that she has made a forceful plea to the district Collector to bail out the Municipality by requisitioning only the minimum staff.
When The Goan contacted MMC Chief Officer, Y B Tawde to throw light on the requisitioning of staff for election duties, he said his office has till date not relieved any staff upon instructions from the Chairperson.
