Engg student’s corpse retrieved from river

The body of an engineering student from Shankarwadi-Taleigao was retrieved from the Zuari river, near Vaje-Shiroda, on Monday evening.

Sandeep Vishwakarma was reported missing in Ponda since Saturday afternoon and his belongings were found on the Borim bridge. His family members had lodged a missing complaint in this regards.  
Police informed that Vishwakarma, an engineering student of RIT Shiroda, was missing since Saturday afternoon. “The fire personnel fished out the body and it has been preserved in GMC morgue,” the duty officer informed.  
Vishwakarma was supposed to answer examination at Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering and Information Technology at Shiroda on Saturday, but he reportedly didn’t appear for the exam. He is third year student of Computer Science.  
Ponda Police is further investigating the case.

May 30 deadline for complete distribution of textbooks

State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has set a deadline of May 30 for completing distribution of textbooks in schools across the State.
