The Goa government has warned that respective scheme in-charges will be held accountable for failing to ensure Aadhaar-linked payments under State schemes.
In a circular issued by Under Secretary (Finance Budget-I) Nishat Belwadly, the government reiterated that all disbursements must be made exclusively through the Aadhaar Payment Bridge (APB), prohibiting direct bank transfers. “However, it has come to the government’s attention that many departments are yet to adhere to these instructions,” Belwadly said.
The government has now directed “strict compliance” to ensure that payments are made under State schemes for release to only those beneficiaries whose bank accounts are Aadhaar-seeded.
“The same shall be periodically revived and the respective scheme in-charges of the department shall be held responsible for non-compliance,” he added.
