A fortnight after 10 Congress MLAs embraced the party, BJP top leaders had an interaction with party cadre from the two constituencies of Quepem
and Canacona at south district party office here on Wednesday.
While party leaders said the meeting was called to discuss the issue of membership, sources in the know said the platform was used to explain to the party cadre the circumstances that led the party leadership to welcome the 10 Congress MLAs. Sources in the know said the meeting agreed that there ought to be a joint interaction between the party members and all those who have embraced the party.
Former Canacona MLA and BJP leader Vijai Poi Khot and many other BJP leaders from Canacona and Quepem constituencies were reportedly present for the meeting.
BJP Organizing Secretary Satish Dhond, former South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, party general Secretary Damu Naik and many others attended the meeting.
This is the second time in the last 15 days that the BJP top brass has come to South not only to discuss the ongoing membership, but explain to the party cadre the circumstances leading to admission of the 10 Congress MLAs.
